I am assistant professor of Ecology at the University of La Laguna (Canary Islands, Spain) and member of the Island Ecology and Biogeography Group. I work on the reconstruction of island vegetation and environments through time, specifically within Macaronesian islands. Combining conventional and novel palaeoecological techniques we aim to answer specific questions regarding the human impact on island ecosystems on the long term, trying, in turn, to integrate palaeoecological information into their conservation and management. But I also collaborate in other research topics related with island ecosystem dynamics at present, biogeography, and management and conservation.
